Parking
Overview
Students Driving:
- All student drivers (and visitors) should enter the garage via the entrance NORTH of the school (see yellow arrows.) They should NOT enter with Carpool and buses to attempt the U-turn into the Garage. This entrance will require badge access.
- A parking permit is required.
- Students should park ONLY on levels 2 and above and not on the ramps.
- Upon leaving the Garage, follow the exit South to Northside Pkwy.
- Go slowly and follow all rules set forth in the NAHS parking contract.
- In case of traffic incident on campus, please report it to the front office so that a school resource officer can be called.
Carpool Drivers:
- Drop off begins at 8:00 am. DO NOT drop off students before that time due.
- Follow the blue arrows to the front of the Lakeside building.
- Form two lines; as you enter the portico, keep right toward the sidewalk/curb areas. Leave the left lanes open for parents who have already dropped off/picked up and proceed slowly and with caution to exit the carpool area.
- No cell phone use please.
- Students should not exit cars until they have reached the front door.
- Do not park under the portico or along the curb if entering the school for any reason at any time. These are FIRE and EMERGENCY lanes and must be kept clear

Parking Deck Rules

To ensure the safety and organization of our school community, all student drivers must follow the rules listed below when using the North Atlanta High School parking deck. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action or loss of parking privileges. Please know that additional cameras and vehicle tag readers have been added to the parking deck.
Parking Permit Requirements
- Permit Displayed: All vehicles must display a valid school-issued parking permit hanging from the rear view mirror or placed clearly on the dashboard.
- Registration: Vehicles must be registered with the school prior to parking. Unauthorized vehicles may be towed at the owner's expense.
- Non-Transferable: Each permit is issued to one student and may not be lent or shared.
Driving Expectations
- Slow Speed: The speed limit within the parking deck is 5 MPH. Reckless or unsafe driving is prohibited.
- Pedestrian Priority: Drivers must always yield to pedestrians.
- No Loitering: Students must exit their vehicle promptly and proceed to the building; staying in or around the vehicle is not permitted.
Parking Guidelines
- Assigned Levels: Students must park in their designated levels the 2nd, 3rd and 4th levels of the deck. Parking in faculty, visitor, or disabled-access spaces without proper authorization is forbidden.
- Unblocked Access: Do not obstruct lanes, entrances, exits, or other vehicles.
- Cleanliness: Keep your spot free of trash or personal items.
Prohibited Behaviors
- Volume Control: Music should be kept at a respectful level while entering, exiting, or parked.
- No Smoking/Vaping: Smoking, vaping, or using illegal substances in the parking deck is strictly prohibited.
- Off‑Campus Transport: Transporting other students off campus during school hours without approval is not allowed.
- Re-visiting Vehicles: Students are not allowed to visit vehicles throughout the day. Students should only return to vehicles when leaving campus for the day.
Enforcement & Consequences
- Warnings & Citations: Breaking rules can result in warnings, tickets, or disciplinary actions.
- Permit Revocation: Repeated violations can lead to suspension or permanent revocation of parking privileges (without refund).
- Tow Policy: Unauthorized or violating vehicles may be towed at owner expense.
Operating Hours
- The parking deck is open to students from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM on school days.
- After-hours use is prohibited unless special written permission is granted.
Student Responsibility
By parking in the North Atlanta High School deck, students acknowledge that they are responsible for abiding by these rules and that the school is not liable for any theft, damage, or loss to vehicles or personal items.
